adventures in photoshop

It's been a while!  Things have gotten busy with a few new projects I've been working on which I will definitely cover later.  For now, I'd like to share my most recent adventure in marketing strategy and Photoshop.

For my Advertising and Promotions Management class, my team created a marketing strategy for Robeks Smoothies.  I was in charge of all social media promotions and artwork.  Robeks won't return my calls (their loss), but personally I'm very happy with how it turned out.  We got an A so I'll go ahead and say it's marketing genius.

We decided to redo the motto and logo to reposition the brand according to our new communciation objectives:
  • Robeks is a brand that was founded in Los Angeles and caters to a city on-the-go lifestyle
  • While smoothies appeal to all, Robeks is specifically for the hip, urban consumer as opposed to the lowest common denominator
  • Robeks is an honest brand that never tries to deceive consumers through misleading marketing tactics.  By spelling out the facts, urban consumers can enjoy their favorite smoothies guilt free.

We also created the "Smoothie Spelled Out" campaign to drive home the "Honest Smoothies" concept.  In this campaign we introduced Rodney Robek, our new brand mascot.  We did a series of 5 different posters, each featuring a different healthy fact about Robeks.  It took a lot of delicate brushwork but I really like the way Rodney turned out.

Then we took this campaign and tied it into our Facebook page.

We also decided to capitalize on the fact that Robeks is an L.A. brand that celebrities love.

"Celebrities On-The-Go"

Finally, we mapped out a potential website redesign featuring the new social media outlets.
It was fun getting a taste of what Photoshop can do, makes me excited for my Photoshop class this semester!
