Tamales and Beer this Saturday afternoon at The Pearl Brewery, need I say more?

Courtesy of The Current:

In what promises to become a new yearly tradition, Pearl Brewery hosts Tamales at Pearl, a sprawling celebration of the holiday staple.

Fifteen finalists have been selected to compete for the title of “Best Tamales in San Antonio” in three categories: Chicken Tamales, Pork Tamales, and Wildcard Tamales.

One lucky tamalera (not to overlook Antonio Hernandez, the lone tamalero) in each category will take home $1,000.

Arrive hungry! Tamales in every imaginable flavor (pumpkin and chocolate are guaranteed) will be sold by vendors competing in a “People’s Choice” contest.

Live music, kid-friendly activities, cooking demonstrations, and the “canstruction” of a piƱata (using cans of food to be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank) by the San Antonio chapter of the American Institute of Architects lead up to a fireworks finale at 6:45 p.m. Free (cash donations to the San Antonio Food Bank will be accepted at the gate), 12-7pm, Pearl Brewery, 200 E Grayson, (210) 212-7260 ext. 210
